Samba is an Open Source/Free Software suite that has, since 1992, provided file and print services to all manner of SMB/CIFS clients, including the numerous versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Samba is freely available under the GNU General Public License.
The Samba project is a member of the Software Freedom Conservancy.

Samba 3.2.3 Available for Download
This is a security release to address CVE-2008-3789. The original advisory is available online. Patches patch 1 for Samba 3.2.2 and patch 2 for Samba 3.2.2 are available. This security advisory is applicable to all Samba 3.2.x releases to date. Past security advisories are available on our security page.
The uncompressed tarballs and patch files have been signed using GnuPG (ID 6568B7EA). The source code can be downloaded now. See the release notes for more info.

Samba 3.3.0pre1 Available for Download
Samba 3.3.0pre1 is available for download. This is a preview of the next upgrade production release version of Samba. It is intended for testing purposes only. Please test and report any bugs that you find. Our plan is to possibly have one more preview release and move to the release candidate stage in September. The final 3.3.0 release is planned for December 15. Please read the changes in the Release Notes for details on new features and difference in behavior from previous releases.
The Samba 3.3.0pre1 source code can be downloaded now. The GnuPG signature is for the for the uncompressed tarball. If you prefer, the large patch file against Samba 3.2.2 (GnuPG signature) is also available for download. Please read these instructions on how to verify the gpg signature. Precompiled packages will be made available on a volunteer basis and can be found in the Binary_Packages download area.

The uncompressed tarballs and patch files have been signed using GnuPG (ID 6568B7EA). The source code can be downloaded now. A patch against Samba 3.0.31 is also available.
